Fugitive Task Force Arrests Hollywood Murder Suspect

A shooting victim in Hollywood attempted to drive for help but ended up crashing and died soon after Wednesday.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man wanted in a shooting death in Hollywood was arrested Friday following a two-day manhunt, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

Members of the LAPD Fugitive Task Force tracked Mario David Ramirez, 27, to La Puente and arrested him Thursday night on suspicion of murder.

He remains jailed on a no-bail murder warrant, according to the LAPD.

Police did not identify the man who was killed.

The fatal shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at Argyle and Selma avenues, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire and arrived to find a man in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim had been in an argument with another man before he was shot, according to LAPD investigators.

After he was shot, the man got into a vehicle and attempted to drive away but crashed into several nearby parked cars, the LAPD reported. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
