HOLLYWOOD, CA — The 81st annual Golden Globes had something for everyone last night. From bad jokes and historic wins to Taylor Swift and a "Barbenheimer" showdown, the 2024 awards season is off to a blazing start.

Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed "Oppenheimer" swept the film categories, taking the prize home himself for best director, as well as picking up best drama, best actor (Cillian Murphy) and best supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.). Meanwhile, Greta Gergwig's "Barbie" lost out to "Poor Things" in the comedy/musical category, but did walk away with the top honor for new cinematic and box office achievement as well as best song for Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For."

Lily Gladstone made a historic win, becoming the first Indigenous winner for best actress in a drama, taking home the prize for her work in "Killers of the Flower Moon."

HBO's "Succession," swept the television categories, winning best drama as well as acting awards for Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen and Sarah Snook. Hulus' "The Bear" also won big, taking home top honors for best comedy series, best actor (Jeremy Allen White), and best actress (Ayo Edebiri).
