Grace Lever Praises Hollywood's Continued Emphasis on the Principle of "Doing"

It’s a remarkably simple and highly effective concept, and most would agree that it is a foundational element of what’s commonly referred to as the “American Spirit,” that somewhat intangible quality that allows anyone to achieve his or her dreams, whatever they might be. As an animating principle, it is this strident belief in “doing” that is often recognized as one of the most important common denominators among the most ambitious and enthusiastic entrepreneurs.

Given that entrepreneurship and the idea of the “American Spirit” are so inexorably linked, it’s no surprise that Hollywood -- which one Academy Award-winning actor recently described as “America’s Greatest Export” -- has continued to promote and emphasize the inherent value of the simple principle of “doing.” It is perhaps due to this ongoing emphasis that so many female entrepreneurs have emerged out of Southern California, with Hollywood representing the epicenter.

According to Grace Lever, the sudden growth of global female entrepreneurship has many origins, and these origins certainly include Hollywood and its praise of the principle of “doing.” Lever, an Australia-based entrepreneur and the founder of GraceLever.com & The Doing Academy, is resolute in her belief in the value of “doing” and has often asserted that her personal life philosophy “is centered on the principle of ‘doing,’” which is why the entrepreneur and marketing funnel specialist offered the highest of praise for any community -- including Hollywood, of course -- committed to encouraging meaningful action in pursuit of a goal or dream.

Lever cited the wealth of research concerning the rate of growth in female entrepreneurship over the past five years as evidence in support of the notion that emphasizing the principle of “doing” will prove critical in ushering in what CNBC and others have described as a “The Golden Age for women entrepreneurs.” Given that the rate of growth has varied in large part according to geographic location, Lever believes that it is the responsibility of communities the world over to emphasize the principle of “doing” by using Hollywood’s approach as an ideal model to follow.

With female entrepreneurship trending so swiftly upward and the gender gap closing all over the globe, it is evident that future economic growth will depend upon the bold efforts of entrepreneurially focused women the world over. Certain communities -- especially in places like the United States and Australia, where the spirit of entrepreneurship is irrevocably woven into the national identity -- will find it easy to further emphasize the principle of “doing” in the form of female entrepreneurship, but other communities will require far more support and guidance in order to instill this principle. Fortunately, cities like Hollywood exist as an ideal blueprint for instilling these important values in communities all over the globe.
