Heather Locklear Pleads Not Guilty To 8 Misdemeanors

The actress allegedly kicked a Ventura County deputy who responded to her Thousand Oaks home in June.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – New charges were filed Thursday against actress Heather Locklear in connection with her June 24 arrest at her Thousand Oaks home, according to a Ventura County Star reporter. Locklear didn't appear in court but her attorney, William Haney, entered a not guilty plea on her behalf, the reporter said. The new charges include misdemeanor battery on a peace officer, misdemeanor battery on an Emergency Medical Technician and resisting arrest.

The actress was reportedly transported to a hospital following the June incident when she was accused of kicking a Ventura County deputy. Authorities responded to her Thousand Oaks home after receiving a call about an overdose, TMZ reported, and then the "Melrose Place" star was arrested.

"Our sources said she planned to voluntarily check herself in for treatment. It appears she did not go voluntarily, after all ... but we're told she is getting treatment now," TMZ reported.

Locklear was allegedly in a disturbance with another person and she kicked a deputy who arrived at the scene, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. Officials described her as intoxicated and uncooperative with authorities who arrested her of two misdemeanor counts of battery on emergency personnel.

The actress allegedly threatened to shoot deputies if they returned to her house again – a few weeks later, deputies returned with a search warrant to recover a firearm registered to Locklear, but they couldn't find it, according to the Ventura County Star.
