Hiker Falls 200 Feet Down Runyon Canyon Embankment
A Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter crew was able to hoist the man out of the canyon Wednesday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters airlifted a hiker who fell down a 200-foot embankment in Hollywood Hills' Runyon Canyon to safety Wednesday.
A Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter crew hoisted the injured man to safety, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
Paramedics received the 911 call for help in the 2000 block of North Fuller Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. and were able to hoist the man from the canyon about an hour later.

"He is declining transport to the hospital," said Stewart. "The helicopter will land and transfer care to the firefighter/paramedics."
