Hit-And-Run Driver Sought After Fatally Striking Scooter Rider In Hollywood: LAPD
A Lime scooter rider was struck by a driver early Sunday morning in Hollywood, police said.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver suspected of fatally striking a man riding a scooter in Hollywood early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred just before 2:30 a.m. when a black sedan traveling northbound on Western Avenue collided into a man riding a Lime scooter, who was crossing Western Avenue just south of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The rider was ejected from his scooter and landed in the roadway. The sedan fled northbound on Western Avenue; the driver did not stop, police said.

The driver of a silver Lexus who was traveling south on Western collided with the scooter. The driver saw the scooter rider laying in the roadway, called 911 and remained on scene, police said.
Paramedics transported the scooter rider to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released, police said.
