Hollywood Boulevard Repaving to Begin Monday

Work on the street is scheduled to take place overnight.

Hollywood Boulevard is scheduled to be repaved beginning Monday.

The project will take place from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m.  Monday through Wednesday, according to Angela Motta, Hollywood Field Deputy for Los Angeles City Councilman Eric Garcetti.

Hollywood Boulevard between Gower Street and LaBrea Avenue will be impacted, Motta said. Conducting the project during the early part of the week was intentional.

"It was the best way to impact the least amount of people," Motta said. "It's happening overnight to cause as little impact as possible."

Work will initially begin from Gower Street to Wilcox Avenue, followed by Wilcox Avenue to Highland Avenue and ending at Highland Avenue to LaBrea Avenue, according to Motta.

The project will include glass being put into the asphalt which has been done in previous years, Motta said.

"It's sparkly, so it's one special thing they do for Hollywood Boulevard," she said.

Temporary "no parking" signs will be posted in the area during the project, according to a memorandum from the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Bureau of Street Services.
