Hollywood High Baseball Players Voted All-League
After the Sheiks finished second in the Southern League, three players make the first team.
The has been selected and three Hollywood High players are on the first team.
The Sheiks selected to the squad were junior catcher , freshman infielder and senior pitcher/outfielder .
Chavez, one of Hollywood's team captains, batted .340, slugged .520 and had 17 hits, 12 runs and 15 RBIs for the Sheiks, who finished 17-6 and finished second in the eight-team league.

Ruiz, who played first base and catcher, batted .422 and slugged .622 with 19 hits, 15 runs and 13 RBIs this season. He pitched five innings to earn the victory in a 8-0 shutout over Roybal, allowing four hits with seven strikeouts.
Torres batted .345 with a slugging percentage of .418. He scored 18 runs, had 19 hits, batted in 15 runs and stole six bases. On the mound he posted a 2.67 earned run average with 64 strikeouts, 24 earned runs and 15 walks in 63 innings.

Hollywood was seeded No. 2 in the playoffs but was upset by 15th-seeded Franklin, 6-5, in its playoff opener May 24.
Sophomore infielder Chris Naredo of league champion Maywood Academy has been chosen Most Valuable Player.
Rounding out the All-League first team are senior pitchers Felix Carrillo and Jose Sandoval-Valdez and sophomore outfielder Jose Ayala of Maywood; junior pitcher Jorge Martinez-Diaz, junior infielders Brian Canas and Kevin Munoz and senior catcher Hector Banuelos of Los Angeles; senior outfielder Victor Torres and senior utility player Andrew Park of Contreras; and junior utility player Daniel Maria of Torres.
Sheiks senior captain and junior pitcher/third baseman received second team honors.
