Fire Scorches Hollywood Hills Home Near Runyon Canyon

Firefighters are battling a two-story house fire near Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters quickly knocked down a battling a blaze near the Runyon Canyon at a two story home in Hollywood Hills.

Crews arrived on scene at the 71440 block of West Senalda Road to find an outbuilding engulfed in heavy flames, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The fire was reported at 11:28 a.m, and crews were able to knockdown the blaze in 20 minutes. Firefighters were able to contain the fire spreading to nearby vegetation in the hilly neighborhood.

"The quick, aggressive actions taken by first arriving firefighters contained the fire to a partially attached outbuilding and defended the primary residence," Stewart said.

The cause of the blaze and the dollar amount of the damage are yet to be determined, she added.
