Iconic Hollywood Arby's Sign Reappears In The SoCal Desert
The sign was spotted — and heavily photographed — on the festival circuit.

INDIO, CA — The iconic Arby’s 10-gallon hat that lit up Hollywood’s skies for decades reappeared over the weekend in the Southern California desert at Stagecoach Music Festival, according to reports.
The sign was spotted — and heavily photographed — as part of Arby’s pop-up at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The light-up hat proclaiming “Arby’s roast beef sandwich is delicious” was highly visible from the chain’s restaurant at 5920 Sunset Blvd., which was open for over 55 years before closing in 2024 due to rising food and wage costs and changes to the neighborhood, according to the Times.

A year later, the sign came down, KTLA reported. Efforts to make the sign a historic cultural monument proved futile and a Raising Cane’s is planned to take over the location, according to KTLA.
But while the Sunset Boulevard Arby’s is gone, its eye-grabbing hat sign continues to impress.

“We were able to bring it back to life here and bring it to all the fans of Arby’s out there,” Arby’s franchisee Roger Amaya told the Times.
