'Insurmountable Obstacles' Force Last-Minute Cancelation Of Iconic Band's Hollywood Bowl Concert

The band was set to perform at the Bowl on Wednesday.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — ZZ Top canceled its Wednesday night concert at the Hollywood Bowl due to what the band's frontman described as "insurmountable obstacles."

The band had been scheduled to perform Thursday with Cheap Trick. The Hollywood Bowl announced on Tuesday that the show would be canceled due to "unforeseen personnel matters."

“Insurmountable obstacles require canceling our Hollywood Bowl performance,” he said. “Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption.”

All concert tickets, along with parking and transportation passes, will be automatically refunded to the original payment method, according to the Hollywood Bowl.

Ticket holders do not need to request a refund. Processing is expected to take five to seven business days. More information is available here.

Cheap Trick was also scheduled to appear at the Bowl. The band instead announced a sold-out performance Wednesday night at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.
