Jimmy Kimmel​ To Return As Oscars Host In Fourth Time As Emcee

"I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times," Kimmel joked in a statement released by the Academy Wednesday.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Jimmy Kimmel was announced as the host of the 96th Academy Awards, marking the second Oscars in a row he'll fill the role and the fourth time he'll lead the ceremony.

"I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times," Kimmel joked in a statement released by the Academy Wednesday.

Late-night host Kimmel hosted in 2017, 2018 and the ceremony earlier this year.

Bob Hope is the all-time leader, with 19 Oscars as host. Bill Crystal hosted nine times and Johnny Carson filled the role five times.

Kimmel will join Whoopi Goldberg and Jack Lemmon as four-time Oscar hosts.

Molly McNearney will also return as an executive producer for the show. She is also an executive producer and co-head writer for "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

The Oscars are scheduled for March 10 and nominations will be announced Jan. 23.
