Kim Wilde Releases Album 'Here Come The Aliens'

'Kids In America' Singer Records Out-Of-This-World Tunes

Kim Wilde, known for her big 1981 hit "Kids In America" is making a splash again in the U.S. But maybe not for long, if she goes off with some outer space visitors.

She's promoting a new album Here Come The Aliens, a fun romp through some interplanetary pop worlds.

Wilde, who has won many awards and has sold more than 30 million records scored with the 1981 hit "Kids In America," which got a lot of attention here in the U.S. After all, the song was made famous by Daryl Hannah and Aiden Quinn during the action-filled anti-high school scene in the movie "Reckless."

She followed up with some classic songs of the 1980s including, "Cambodia," "Chequered Love," "You Keep Me Hangin’ On" and "Four Letter Word."

'Here Come The Aliens'

But the 2000s, the music hotshot became fascinated by aliens. In 2009 she saw some peculiar activity in her backyard and chose to investigate further.

"I did see some incredible lights in the sky back in 2009," Kim said. "Of course Steve Hawking believed very much that there are aliens, I think he also suggested we didn't get in contact with them. I saw something I'm sure was extraterrestrial ... in the back garden ... I know it sounds crazy but it happened to me."

Here Come The Aliens is a fun pop release with a selection of excellent and upbeat danceable tunes. It's a great marriage of nostalgia with modern times as she's getting the attention of those too young to dance to her music in the 1980s.

Here Come The Aliens stands on its own as one of the cool new albums of 2018 so far. But there's also a new video called "Kandy Krush" based on a single off the new album.
