LAPD Officer Arrested For Allegedly Waving Gun In Road Rage

An LAPD officer stationed in the San Fernando Valley is accused of waving a replica gun at another driver in a road rage incident.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A Los Angeles Police Department is facing charges for allegedly brandishing a replica firearm during a possible road rage incident in Saugus over the weekend.

Georgeta Buruiana, 38, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm at an occupant of a vehicle about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and freed on bond the same night. Buruiana, an officer assigned to the LAPD's Valley Division, was assigned to home after her arrest, pending the completion of a department administrative investigation, according to LAPD spokesman Officer Mike Lopez.

Authorities did not say why the police officer was allegedly in possession of a replica gun at the time. Police also did not say what prompted the dispute, but the victim told Los Angeles Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's deputies that the other motorist displayed a gun in a threatening manner as they drove, Station spokeswoman Shirley Miller told KTLA.
