LAPD Officers In Hollywood Hospitalized Following Drug Exposure

The three were hospitalized after encountering fentanyl while checking on a report of a gunman.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Two officers and a supervisor with the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division were taken to a hospital as a precaution Friday after they came upon fentanyl while checking a car during a weapons investigation.

Officers were summoned about 11 a.m. to the area of Lankershim Boulevard and Hesby Street to investigate a report of someone brandishing a weapon, according to the LAPD.

One suspect was taken into custody, and while searching a vehicle, officers found an open container with fentanyl inside, police said.
