Locations Of Los Angeles DUI Checkpoints Announced
The Los Angeles Police Department is holding a series of saturation patrols and DUI checkpoints around the city through Sunday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will be out in force this weekend with a blitz of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols to catch intoxicated drivers.
The LAPD Is publicizing its campaign to catch drunken drivers to deter people from getting behind the wheel under in the influence of drugs or alcohol. The DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests, according to the LAPD.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk," said Commander Valenzuela, Commanding Officer of Traffic Group. "Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”

Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to the LAPD.

DUI Saturation Patrol from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in Southwest Area
DUI Saturation Patrol from 5:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. in Foothill Area
