Long Beach Arrest Leads to 3rd DUI Arrest for Man
A Gulfport man has been charged for a third time with DUI. This time, however, his child was in the car with him.
A Gulfport man has been charged for a third time with driving under the influence of alcohol. This time, however, his child was in the car with him.
According to Harrison County Sheriff, Troy Peterson, 36-year-old Michael Devon Jones was placed under arrest after having left the scene of an accident in Long Beach.
Sheriff’s deputies caught up to Jones in the area of Red Creek Road and Beatline Road. Deputies discovered during the stop that Jones had his child with him.

Deputies determined that Jones had a felony warrant for his arrest for a parole violation on a charge of smuggling contraband to a prisoner from the state Department of Corrections.
Peterson said that the child complained of some pain at the time of the stop. The child was taken to an area hospital to be checked out and was later released with no injuries.

Jones was arrested and is currently facing felony charges of DUI, and endangering a child through DUI. Additional charges include leaving scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and a child-restraint violation.
