Robert Rivera of San Bernardino was arrested following a low-speed chase and brief stand-off in Palmdale on March 9th. NBC Los Angeles has the story.

The pursuit of Rivera began at around 3:00 p.m. near Antelope Valley Freeway and Angeles Crest Highway.
At times the chase more resembled a slow-moving parade with speeds of just about 5 m.p.h. as Rivera led a string of deputies after him. At one point, police were able to flatten at least 3 of the suspect vehicle’s tires with a spike strip.
Rivera was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and possible reckless driving and eluding authorities. At one point, officers observed Rivera tossing what looked like money out of the car window.

The car chase ended at Peaceful Valley and Forest View Roads, but Rivera didn’t quite give up. Instead, he barricaded himself inside his vehicle.

Low-speed chases may be comical, but DUI driving is no joke. Getting caught driving drunk can lead to serious consequences. If you are charged with this crime, consult with a local DUI attorney to know your legal options.
