Man, 26, Killed By Metro Train In Hollywood

The fatal incident remains under investigation.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Authorities on Monday identified a 26-year-old man struck and killed by a Metro B Line train at the Hollywood and Vine station Sunday night.

The death of William Boerger remains under investigation. Boerger, who was homeless, was trapped beneath the train Sunday at 6250 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles Fire Fighters attempted to free him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters and Metro staff assisted the uninjured passengers and train operator in safely exiting the train during the rescue effort.
