Manhunt On For Armed Suspect Near Sunset Boulevard

Police are looking for a man believed to be armed with a knife or scissors.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police are looking for an armed suspect near Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Residents are advised to avoid the area around Sunset and Fuller, where police set up a containment area to catch the suspect. The search as been going on since 7:39 a.m. Wednesday, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee.

“Officers responded to a suspect possibly armed with a knife or some scissors, possibly threatening people,” Lee said. "We set up a perimeter."

The suspect, described as a man in his mid twenties with a shaved head, fled into the surrounding neighborhood according to police.

According to the LAPD, there are no schools on lockdown as a result of the manhunt. However, on Twitter, parents said they were unable to reach a nearby preschool in West Hollywood because of the police perimeter.
