NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA -- An 82-year-old woman who suffers from dementia and apparently walked away from her nursing home in Valley Glen was found near the facility, authorities said Monday.

Katharina Fritz Linzer was found at 8 a.m. Sunday near the Windsor Gardens Healthcare Center of the Valley at 13000 Victory Blvd., said Police Services Representative Stacy Ball of the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Station.

Police interviewed the staff who told them the woman had been at the center at 7 p.m. Saturday and they didn't know where she went.
