Hollywood Attack: 3 Injured In Random Stabbing Spree; Suspect Killed
An officer shot and killed a man who stabbed three people in what police say is a random stabbing spree in Hollywood's tourist district.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Three people were seriously injured Tuesday when a man went on a seemingly random stabbing spree in the heart of Hollywood's tourist mecca before police shot and killed the suspect in a crowded fast food restaurant.
Most of the violence occurred at a Jack in the Box just off Sunset Boulevard in the 1400 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard.
"It seems to be a random act at this point," said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im. "It seems like a majority of the stabbing occurred in the Jack In The Box."

Firefighters and officers responded about 2 p.m. to a report of a stabbing in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Ivar Avenue, where the suspect stabbed a man riding a bicycle, authorities said.
The suspect then headed east, entered the Jack in the Box and stabbed two more men, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Several streets in the area around Sunset Boulevard, Ivar Avenue and North Cahuenga Boulevard were to remain closed Tuesday evening, said Im.
Two stabbing victims are in critical condition, and a third suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Im.
Police are releasing few details about the incident, which took place in Hollywood's heavily traveled tourist destination near several clubs and CNN's news headquarters in Los Angeles.
Graphic video posted to Twitter showed a chaotic scene inside the Jack in the Box where police had one man handcuffed on the ground at the feet of an older man. The man sat slumped over in his chair above a pool of blood. Police could be heard reporting to dispatchers that one man was not breathing. A bloodied knife lay on the ground nearby.
A correspondent at CNN tweeted about the incident, reporting that a suspect ran down Sunset Boulevard and tried to stab people outside the CNN office. The office was placed on lockdown as a result.
