Musso and Frank Grill is officially 94 years old.
City Councilman Tom LaBonge plans to mark the occasion by presenting the Hollywood Boulevard restaurant with a special certificate at 5 p.m. on Friday.
"There aren't too many places in this city that have seen nearly the whole history of Los Angeles unfold in front of it," LaBonge said. "Musso's has."
The restaurant first opened on September 27, 1919, at 6669 Hollywood Blvd. and was known as "Frank's Cafe."
John Mosso, along with his partner Joseph Carrissimi, then bought the restaurant in 1927.
It has been located at 6667 Hollywood Blvd. since the 1930's.
