 Anaheim, CA(Hollywood Today)1/25/14/–This was not the first actual day of the Winter Namm  Show at the massive Anaheim Convention Center in sunny southern California.  But, it sure felt that way for this first time attendee/journalist!  The excitement and vibe seemed to permeating throughout the whole day in anticipation of attracting nearly 100,00 plus people in the next four days. 

Vendors were putting the finishing touches on their exhibitor booths, bringing in new and creative products that will further support musicians’ ever-changing styles that will shape music for the future.  The following reviews are this authors’ highlights of Media Day:

  1.  The most captivating and sophisticated instrument to come along is the PianoArc.  Actually a circular keyboard just over 6 feet in circumference it is just shy of 300 consecutive keys on a tilting stand.  It is three piano’s in one.  It is electronic in nature and each set is composed of 88 keys.  One the low bass  while the other is the treble with the last set is the control section which features pitch bending, a super sensitive action using IR optical scanning.
