New Round Of Protests In LA County Sunday

Another round of protests is expected across the Southland Sunday, amid fresh outrage over the death of a 24-year-old Palmdale man.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Multiple demonstrations against racism and police brutality were scheduled again Sunday across the Southland, as has been the case every day for weeks, prompted by the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police on Memorial Day.

Events planned in Los Angeles County include:

  • 9 a.m. Skate protest in support of Black Lives Matter at Venice High School, 13000 Venice Blvd. (Skateboarders for Justice)
  • 10 a.m. Malborough School, 250 S. Rossmore Ave.
  • 10 a.m. Solidarity March, President Trump's star on the Walk of Fame near Hollwyood Blvd. and Highland Ave. (RefuseFascismLA)
  • 11 a.m. Inglewood Library, 101 W. Manchester Blvd to Inglewood Cemetery
  • 11 a.m. All Black Lives Matter Pride March at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue
  • 12:30 p.m. Long Beach caravan against police brutality at Atlantic Avenue and Harding Street
  • 2 p.m. Defund ICE & against the inhumane conditions of detention centers at 150 N. Meyers St. in downtown Los Angeles
  • 7:45 p.m. Candlelight vigil at Armstrong Avenue and Lake View Terrace in Silver Lake

Meanwhile, ongoing daily demonstrations are held at the following locations:

Meanwhile, protests have continued and questions still linger over the death of Robert Fuller, a 24-year-old black man found hanging from a Palmdale tree Wednesday. Local authorities are now investigating his death after quickly ruling it a suicide, prompting community outrage.

A Los Angeles County supervisor, state senator and state assembly member have called on the state attorney general to investigate Fuller's death.
