Pacquiao Beats Mosley to Retain Boxing Crown

The Filipino star, who trains in Hollywood, wins by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

showed once again why he is widely regarded as the best "pound for pound" boxer in the world, outpointing Sugar Shane Mosley by a unanimous decision to retain his WBO welterweight title Saturday night before a sellout crowd of 16,412 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

By most accounts, "Pac-Man" won each of the 12 rounds, even knocking Mosley down with a left hook in the third round. The official scores were 120-108, 120-107 and 119-108 — all for Pacquiao, who improved to 53-3-2 but suffered a cramp in his left leg that may have prevented him from producing his 39th career knockout.

The Filipino southpaw pocketed at least $20 million for the night's work, while the 39-year-old Mosley (46-7-1), the pride of Pomona, California, was guaranteed $5 million. It was the 14th consecutive victory for the 32-year-old Pacquiao, who has won belts in eight different weight classes.
