Pedestrian Killed By Alleged DUI Driver
The crash happened in the early morning hours of Thursday on Beach Boulevard north of Edinger Avenue in Huntington Beach.
You can often find a lot of pedestrians near a beach. Combine that with impaired driving and you have the recipe for tragedy. A pedestrian in Huntington Beach was killed after a vehicle crashed into him. Here’s what NBC Los Angeles had to say.
The crash happened in the early morning hours of Thursday on Beach Boulevard north of Edinger Avenue. The driver of the SUV was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene while the police conducted their investigation. They had to shut down part of the street as well as an on-ramp to the 405.

Regardless of whether or not the driver was intoxicated, they will have to live with the incident for the rest of their life. They may have to face civil charges of wrongful death if they are convicted. The news story doesn’t have all of the information a court would ask. For instance, was the pedestrian walking illegally? That would have a major effect on the case.
However, if the driver is successfully charged with DUI, it’s possible that many other charges could come along with it. DUI conviction proves that a driver was irresponsible in their behavior, and thus responsible for any other related charges. At the very least, it’s much harder to defend.
