People from 30 Countries Celebrate Carnival of Conscience in Hollywood on International Love and Peace Day

The movement of An Era of Conscience started on January 1st, 2014. Currently, people from 196 countries have endorsed it.

On September 15, the International Love and Peace Day, volunteers for the movement of An Era of Conscience (ANEOC), made up of Tai Ji Men members, visited well-known attractions in Los Angeles like Hollywood, Griffith Observatory, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and Santa Monica to actively promote the “Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience” and “Declaration of World Citizens,” which aim to consolidate people’s kind intentions to instill positive energy into the world. Within one day, they collected signatures from nearly 200 participants from 30 countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Peru, France, the Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, Slovakia, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Australia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.

These volunteers, many of whom are either married couples or family members, are very special because they just came from far away places the day before such as the Netherlands, Canada, and Taiwan. Currently living in New York, fashion designer Yi Shan Mao flew to Los Angeles to promote the ANEOC movement along with her mother, who flew from Taiwan. Mao said she cherished this opportunity to do meaningful things. She said interacting with others is a two-way street. If you treat others nicely, they would respond in the same manner. As modern people are often preoccupied with negative thoughts, we need more positive energy in society and more positive interactions between people. She believes this movement is a good way and a simple way to facilitate such interactions.

Hsu Qi Li, founder of a recycling company Menhome Enviornmental Protection, is also a volunteer for the ANEOC movement. Li, who voluntarily participated in this event at her own expense, said conscience is the key to the success of her business. She believes that by applying conscience to her work, she can help achieve sustainability for both the environment and her business.

Cong Ming Zheng, another volunteer, runs a livestock business. Through years of qigong practice at Tai Ji Men, he has not only improved his personality, physical health, and relationships with his family, but also learned to manage his business effectively. As a successful businessman, he has followed his conscience and selflessly helped many of his friends improve their financial health without asking for anything in return. He only wants them to take good care of their families and do things to benefit the society. He thinks that would be the best reward for his kindness to them.

This group of international volunteers performed “Love and Peace Song” on the bustling streets in Hollywood. Their voices attracted many curious pedestrians to stop and listen. The volunteers aimed to inspire people to show their support for the ANEOC movement. Responding to the movement, Lazaro Arvizu, a dancer from the Xipetotec Aztec Dance Company, said that love and peace is vital to a person’s spiritual wellbeing and future. Xochipilli, also from the same company, said that having a positive mindset is crucial in today’s world. Ascension Lopez, an American citizen, fully endorsed the ideas of this movement. She believes that people need to unite as one in order to achieve world peace. Taha Cikim, a Turkish engineer, expressed his support for this movement amid political instability in his country. David Lawson, an Australian citizen, said that being kind to all living things on this planet will make this world a better place.
