Shots Fired At Marijuana Dispensary On W. Adams

One suspect cuffed for assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

LOS ANGELES – Shots rang out Sunday at a marijuana dispensary in the West Adams area of Los Angeles but no one was hurt, authorities said.

Police were called about 9:50 p.m. to the dispensary in the 4800 block of West Adams Boulevard, according to Lt. Jerry Davila of the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Station.

A man was inside firing shots and officers were trying to determine whether he was an employee or the owner, since there was no evidence of a break- in, Davila said.

The man inside the dispensary was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a man outside the business told police he thought the suspect was shooting at him, Davila said.

At about the same time, an ambulance was called to an adjacent apartment complex and paramedics took a patient with an unrelated medical emergency to a hospital for treatment, he said.
