Stampede Injures Several At Hollywood Record Signing
Police and paramedics were called to Hollywood and Highland where several people were trampled at rap record signing.

HOLLYWOOD , CA — A stampede at a crowded record-signing event in Hollywood left injured 10 people, eight of whom had to be hospitalized Monday night. Details of the stampede and rumors that it was triggered by a fight remained murky Monday night.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
The event involved a record signing by Marco Anthony Archer, a rapper known as Phora. It took place at the Shoe Palace in the tourist area around Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Security for the event called for police help at about 9:15 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that a fight had broke out at the event leading to the stampede that left several people injured as they tried to escape the scene.
On Twitter, Phora downplayed reports of any violence, saying someone passed out, but she was OK.

"I apologize to the LAPD, I apologize to the fans from the bottom of my heart," Phora told CBS2. "There was no gunshots, no stabbings. I think it was because it was so hot, there were so many people... I just hope everyone's ok. Peace and love."
Neither Phora or any firefighters sustained injuries, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
