HOLLYWOOD, CA – Police are searching for suspects responsible for a string of recent burglaries targeting homes from the Hollywood Hills to Malibu. The thieves made off with thousands in jewelry and cash, ABC7 reported.

One victim caught his home being burglarized on security video in Malibu just after 11 a.m. last Thursday.

"He does spend quite a bit of time making sure nobody's home," the man, who only wants to be identified as Darren, told ABC7 of one of the suspects seen on video.

After the first suspect checks to see if the coast is clear, he's joined by two others – one armed with a crowbar, the news station reported. A safe, jewelry and other valuables were stolen, he told ABC7.

A day earlier, Los Angeles police said video captured two suspects burglarizing a home in the Hollywood Hills. In a similar scenario, one suspect checked to make sure no one was home before another man with a crowbar joined him.
