Sunset Boulevard Shooting Was Likely A Road Rage Attack: LAPD

A woman riding in a truck with her husband was shot during the rush hour on Hollywood's busiest thoroughfare Wednesday.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A woman wounded by gunfire on Sunset Boulevard appears to have been the victim of a road rage, shooting the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Thursday.

Detectives are asking witnesses to come forward as they search for the shooter.

Officers were called to the scene in the 81oo block of Sunset Boulevard just before 4:30 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Officer Jeff Lee.

The victim was riding in a pickup truck driven by her husband, and the suspect cut them off in traffic and then fired a shot at their vehicle, according to the LAPD.

The woman's husband drove to a Chevron station and ExtraMile convenience store a short distance away and sought help.

"Officers discovered one victim suffering from a gunshot wound," Lee said. "She was transported in stable condition."

The suspect was described as a man in his 20s with dark hair and a mustache, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, according to police. His vehicle was described as a gray Honda SUV, police said.
