Suspect Arrested In Hit & Run Of Celebrity Photographer

A break in the case led to the arrest of a man suspected in the hit and run at Hollywood and Vine that critically injured a photographer.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police believed they cracked the case of November hit and run that critically injured a celebrity photographer at Hollywood and Vine. The Los Angeles Police Department Wednesday announced the arrest of a 30-year-old Los Angeles man in connection with the case.

A $25,000 reward had been in effect for information that helps detectives solve the hit-and-run. it was unclear Wednesday if the offered of a reward led to the break in the case.

Elvis Guevara, 30, who had been wanted on a warrant, was arrested Sunday and is being held without bail, facing probable charges in connection with the crash, the LAPD reported.

Corentin Villemeur was struck about 11:25 p.m. Nov. 6 as the Los Angeles resident was crossing Vine Street north of Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

TMZ.com previously reported that YouTube star Lele Pons, a friend of Villemeur, witnessed the crash, which happened when a car went through a red light as the victim was in a crosswalk.

Corentin had reportedly just attended Pons' performance with Latin singer Karol G at Avalon Hollywood.
