Suspect In Hollywood Slayings Arrested

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man wanted in the shooting deaths of a woman he had been dating and another man in Hollywood is in custody Thursday.

Marvin Francell Williams, 32, was arrested in the High Desert Wednesday on suspicion of murder, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He remains in custody at the Los Angeles County jail without the possibility of bail.

Police believe Williams gunned down Nadia Campbell, 35, of Hollywood, and Ajani Patridge, 40, of Los Angeles, shortly after 11 p..m. on June 16 in front of Campbell's three young children who were sitting in a nearby car. The slayings occurred in the 6100 block of Carlos Avenue.

Patridge and Campbell died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

On Wednesday, members of an LAPD/ FBI Fugitive Task Force "discovered suspect Marvin Francell Williams was at a location in the 13700 block of Adams Street, in the Oak Hills Area of Hesperia," an LAPD statement said.

"Task force officers contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Fugitive Task Force and informed them of Williams' location," the LAPD said. "The SBCSD Fugitive Task Force set up surveillance at the location, pending the arrival of the LAPD/FBI Fugitive Task Force."

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Williams came out of the location and got into the rear passenger area of a vehicle, the LAPD said.

"The vehicle left the location and was stopped by the SBCSD Fugitive Task Force near Escondido Avenue and Central Avenue. Williams was taken into custody without incident," the LAPD said.

"LAPD/FBI Fugitive Task Force officers arrived at the location and took custody of Williams, who was then transported to LAPD's Olympic Community Police Station," the LAPD said. Williams was booked at the Olympic Station on the murder warrant, police said.

In an earlier statement, police said the woman's children were near the scene of the shootings.

"Nadia's three young children were in a vehicle nearby when the murders occurred," police said. "The suspect was in a dating relationship with Campbell and this crime involved domestic violence." Police did not specify whether the suspect and the victim had currently been dating or if the relationship had ended previously.

Security video from a home in the area captured footage of the victims walking in the street with a man prior to the shooting. It was not disclosed if the man in the video was Williams.
