SWAT Team Arrests Barricaded Shooting Suspect In Koreatown
An hours-long standoff with a shooting suspect ended Thursday with a man in custody and headed to the hospital.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A SWAT team took a shooting suspect who barricaded himself inside a Koreatown apartment into custody Thursday morning.
The standoff began around 1 a.m. when officers went to the area of Vermont Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard in response to a report of a suicidal man who was possibly armed, the Los Angeles Police Department's Metropolitan Division reported.
No injuries were reported, police said, and the man was communicating with officers.

Video from the scene showed the shirtless man talking to officers and appearing to surrender with his hands up but he retreated into the apartment.
The standoff ended with the man surrendering sometime after 5 a.m., according to reports from the scene. The man was taken to a hospital by ambulance but it wasn't immediately clear why.
