Tax Day Protesters Target Corporate Banks
Demonstrators say that banks are using loopholes in the tax code to avoid paying their fair share.
An estimated crowd of more than 100 people gathered Monday at the corner of Sunset and Vine to protest against financial institutions Chase and Bank of America on the day income taxes were due.
The gathering was part of a nationwide day of action and was sponsored by several groups including MoveOn.org.
The event attempted to draw attention to what organizers say are loopholes in the tax code that allow banks to dodge paying their fair share.
