If you’re looking for a taste of Mexico in Hollywood, head over to Te’kila. Authentic Mexican cuisine, more than 100 varieties of tequila and tasty margaritas are just a few of the things that you’ll find in this Hollywood gem.
Located at 6541 Hollywood Boulevard, Te’kila is a lively addition to the historic Jane’s House Courtyard.
The patio provides comfortable outdoor seating with access to televisions, heat lamps and a peek at the action on Hollywood Boulevard. Inside, an extensive collection of tequila sits on shelves behind a wooden bar and tempts customers to try something unusual.

The bar’s interior boasts a chocolate-color wood decor with mint green ceilings and artsy light fixtures. A back room houses a dining area and flat screen televisions provide access to the big game. Te’kila’s French doors prop open and let in fresh air. Leather studded stools keep patrons close to the bar and a corner mosaic tile table is popular for big parties.
Happy hour at Te’kila runs seven nights at week from 4 to 8 p.m. For just $5, the bar offers a variety of house margaritas, Patron shots, Milagro shots, well drinks and bottled beers. Beers on tap are also available for $4.

For the hungry, happy hour food specials include an assortment of appetizers such as tacos ($2), dirty dogs ($4), big ass taquito ($5), nachos ($5), quesadillas ($5), Tekila wings ($6) and carne asada fries ($6).
In addition to happy hour, “Margarita Mondays” provides customers with $5 house margaritas all night long. During Lakers games, 1800 tequila and Three Olives vodka purple and gold shots are $5. If the Lakers win, free tacos are offered to dining customers.
A late night menu starts at 12 a.m. and features discounted appetizers, as well as $4 beer on tap and $6 midnight shots.
Te’kila’s kitchen serves a variety of authentic Mexican dishes in the form of brunch, starters, soups, salads, fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, tortas and burritos. A tapas menu offers varieties such as grilled Mexican shrimp skewers, chile verde sliders and chicken and goat cheese flautas. Entrée prices range from $8-$17, with tacos as low as $3 each.
The fully stocked bar is famous for housing more than 100 varieties of tequila, with such offerings as Jose Cuervo Especial ($8) and Patron Gran Burdos ($98). Don Julio specialty cocktails, such as the Agave Drop ($9—Don Julio Blanco, Agave Nectar Lime juice, and lime wedge garnish), Noche Buena ($10—Don Julio Reposada, Half/Half, Agave nectar and a dash of cinnamon) and the Blackberry Drop ($10—Don Julio Blanco, blackberries, agave nectar, lemon juice) are popular among patrons.
Mixed drinks such as the bar’s Mojito Bandito ($10—rum, fresh lime juice, mint), and The Cure All ($10—vodka, fresh lemon juice, agave nectar, fresh strawberries, and Benedictine) make delicious after work choices.
Tequila flights are available in a variety of flavors such as The Entourage ($19 —Avion Blanco, Avion Reposao, Avion Anejo). Red and white wine ($5-6) and sangria ($3), as well as tequila infusions ($10—seasonal fresh fruit) are also on the menu.
For $8, any beer can be turned into a Michelada (tomato, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, salt, and pepper).
Guests range from locals who love a great happy hour special to the tourist who walked in from the street. The bar’s environment is relaxed; there is no dress code, and no cover. DJs entertain the bar Friday and Saturday nights, which turn things into more of a club scene.
Special events, such as the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day “Get Lucky Happy Hour” (food and drink specials, DJs, Irish Car Bombs, pints of Guinness $4), pop up on the calendar from time to time.
