Terrbile Accident in Malibu Kills Toddler
A rollover accident in Malibu, possibly DUI-related, took the life of a 2-year-old girl.

There is perhaps no greater tragedy in the world than to lose the life of a loved one. When that loved one is a child, it is made even worse.
A single vehicle rollover crash claimed the life of a two-year-old girl on Friday evening.
According to authorities, the accident happened north of Seaver Road near Pepperdine University at approximately 8:51 p.m. when the driver, identified as Magdalena Lisi of Canoga Park was driving a Kia northbound on Malibu Canyon Road. The vehicle had drifted to the right side of the road and collided with a metal guardrail.

Investigators say that Lisi attempted to right her vehicle hard to the left in an attempt to regain control, but the overcorrection caused the vehicle to strike a hillside and overturn on the west side of the road.
Lisi’s injuries were severe and she was airlifted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center by helicopter, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz and the CHP. There's no word on the woman's current condition.

California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said in a statement that the little girl was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities are withholding the name of the child pending notification of family.
Lisi was placed under arrest at the hospital while receiving medical care.
Even if it an accident is still under investigation as to whether impairment may have been a factor, having an arrest of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can carry serious consequences if you are convicted - especially if serious injuries or a fatality are involved.
A conviction of a DUI offense can mean not only heavy fines, the loss of insurance or even your driving privileges, but it can also mean losing your freedom with lengthy jail time if you are convicted.
