"Tibetan Hearts” is an authentic view of Tibet

Tibet is not forgotten by Hollywood , "Tibetan Hearts" is the proof.

Tibet is the roof of the world, the Buddha’s country, and the country where gods live! Because of natural and man-made difficulties, it is called "a place forgotten by Hollywood" by many people.

“Tibetan Hearts” is an independent film by Maeya Films, the production subdivision of Maeya Culture Exchange Group. It follows a true story of forbidden love between two sheep herders in Tibet during the 1950s. They fall in love despite the rivalry between their two families. Tensions rise and the two families clash, leading to the death of the male lead.

The storyline of the movie is steady. Coupled with the epic and boundless scenery, it is very poetic! The dialogue is minimal, but the actors use body language and facial expressions to convey the story naturally.

The heroine's dedication to her love is unwavering, and almost spiritual in its persistence.

The cinematography of this film is superb. Panoramic shots show off the stunning landscape of the Tibetan plateau.

There is little dialogue in the movie, but the original Tibetan music is very distinctive, high-pitched but gorgeous and ethereal. Many scenes focus on the natural sounds of the Tibetan plateau, immersing the audience in the environment.

Personally, I especially like the scene where the hero and heroine are in the fire in the cave. The raging fire is burning together with the two passionately loving hearts, completing the fusion of hearts! Very beautiful, very elegant, is the appearance of true love.

All the members of the crew are local Tibetans, and the result is a film that is true to the experiences of real Tibetans.

In short, “Tibetan Hearts” is a lovely film with a lot of soul and love for the real Tibet! It is absolutely worth watching.

This is the first in a series of films made by Maeya Films that are set in Tibet. “Wait” by the same filmmaker as “Tibetan Hearts” and “Tibetan Horse”, an action film featuring Cooper Budan, the male lead of this film, are in production now.
