Trans Woman Stabbed In Hollywood; Attacker At Large

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police are looking for an attacker who stabbed a trans woman in Hollywood early Thursday morning.

Authorities would not confirm reports that the crime is being investigated as a hate crime. The woman was stabbed on on Franklin Avenue near Gower Street around 2 a.m., according to Officer Christopher No with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

The woman refused treatment at the hospital, and she is expected to recover, No said. The investigation is ongoing despite the fact that the woman is not cooperating with police, officials said. Officials have not released a description of the attacker.
