Tree Topples On Laurel Canyon, Knocking Out Power
Residents in the Hollywood Hills lost power on Christmas night when a large tree fell on power lines at Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A stretch of Laurel Canyon was shutdown Christmas night after a large tree toppled, taking down power lines with it.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. That's when customers in the area began tweeting the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power about the outage. The department did not reply, but reporters at the scene showed crews removing the tree and repairing the power lines. Power was quickly restored to the area before the holiday evening was over.
The stretch of Laurel Canyon Boulevard near the fallen tree was shut down, with northbound traffic on the busy street between the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood diverted to Little Laurel Canyon Road.
