Water Main Break Floods Hollywood Neighborhood

Crews are working to repair a broken water main that flooded the street as well as the lower level of an apartment building in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- An 8-inch water main break in Hollywood Tuesday resulted in some residential and street flooding.

The problem was reported about 3 a.m. at Cahuenga Boulevard and Franklin Avenue and affected 30 customers, said Vonda Paige of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Utility crews were sent to make repairs.

Water from the main flowed into the first floor of the Whitley House Apartments through the elevator shaft and then down into the laundry room in the lower level, NBC4 reported.
