Water Main Rupture Disrupts Water Service On Melrose

LOS ANGELES, CA — Two water mains ruptured overnight in the city of Los Angeles -- in Hollywood and in the Cathay Circle area just east of Beverly Hills.

The first problem was reported some time before 6 a.m. at Melrose Avenue and Orange Drive in Hollywood and affected 68 customers, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The second problem was reported about 6:40 a.m. in an 8-inch main in the 6400 block of Wilshire Boulevard and affected 15 customers, the LADWP reported.

Crews were sent to make repairs.
