Wilshire Boulevard to Shut Down for Subway Construction

Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills will be closed Friday through the weekend.

A stretch of eastbound Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills will be closed beginning tomorrow night and continuing through the weekend as crews begin to relocate electrical vaults in advance of the Purple Line subway construction.

Weekend closures on alternating sides of Wilshire will continue on weekends through Oct. 25, so motorists were being urged to find alternate routes.

This weekend’s closure will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through 6 p.m. Sunday. Eastbound Wilshire boulevard will be closed between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards. Westbound Wilshire will be reduced to one lane, according to Metro. Eastbound motorists on Wilshire will be diverted north on San Vicente, back to eastbound Wilshire.
