Winds Leave Hollywood Hills Residents Powerless

Hundreds of residents in Hollywood Hills remained without power following Monday's wind storm.

Around 5,700 Los Angeles County utility customers remained without power today as problems caused by high winds and falling trees and branches continued to affect the delivery of electricity. In the city of Los Angeles, about 5,300 customers were without electricity as of about 9 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Among the problem areas:

-- Bel Air, 137 customers;

-- Beverly Crest, 995 customers;

-- Hollywood Hills, 922, customers;

-- Mid-Wilshire, 1,937 customers;

-- Sawtelle, 118 customers; and

-- Woodland Hills, 644 customers.

In areas of the county served by Southern California Edison, about 400 customers were without electrical service due to weather-related problems.
