Woman Injured In Hollywood Food Truck Fire

A woman suffered burns to her arm and face in a flash fire that broke out as she refueled a food truck generator in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A 60-year-old woman suffered burn injuries Tuesday when a fire broke out as she refueled a food truck generator in Hollywood.

The fire was reported about 6:20 p.m. in the 6700 block of Hollywood Boulevard, between Highland Avenue and McCadden Place, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The woman, who worked on the truck, suffered second- and third-degree burns to her arms, first-degree burns to her face and possible respiratory injury, Humphrey said.

She was in fair condition when taken to a hospital, he said.

The flash fire also burned the side of the catering truck, according to Humphrey, who said the generator was not running but was still plugged in and hot while the woman refueled it.

A reported explosion appeared to be a tire blowing out as a result of the fire, Humphrey said.

No other injuries were reported
