Woman Shot To Death On Metro Rail In Hollywood

Police were investigating a shooting that left one woman dead after a shooting on a commuter train in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A woman was shot to death on the Metro Rail in Hollywood on Sunday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Police sought the public's help on Sunday to identify the man who fired the fatal shot.

Officers responded around 5:11 a.m. to the Metro Rail's Holywood Boulevard and Vine Street stop, where they found a woman, who was not publicly identified, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to a hospital, where she died of her injuries, officials soid.

Witnesses told police that an agitated man was pacing on the train. He reportedly had a verbal argument with the woman who was seated near him. As the train pulled up to the stop, the man shot the woman and left the train on Hollywood Boulevard in an unknown direction, police said.
