Woman Shot While Standing On Balcony, Shooter At Large: LA County Deputies

A woman was shot while standing on the balcony of her apartment Thursday, according to authorities.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A woman was wounded Thursday night when she was shot at while standing on the balcony of a West Hollywood apartment, according to deputies.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's West Hollywood Station responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. Thursday to the 1000 block of North Vista Street, about a block south of Santa Monica Boulevard, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call.

When they arrived at the scene, they learned the victim had been shot while standing on a balcony, LASD Deputy Daniel Dominguez said.

The woman was taken to a hospital.

Witnesses reported hearing four to five shots fired, according to the WeHo Times.

The woman's roommate was the one who called 911 to report the shooting, CBS Los Angeles reported.

A lieutenant at the West Hollywood Station said Friday that detectives there were investigating if the shooter had some kind of connection to the woman, who was hospitalized in stable condition.
