Community members can safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted or expired medications. For this event, the department will also accept liquids, needles, and sharps, Huntington Beach Police Department said.

Officials say the initiative helps prevent prescription drug misuse and accidental poisoning while providing a safe, convenient way to clear out medicine cabinets. Residents are encouraged to participate and share the information to help keep homes and the community safe.
