THE ADMIRAL: Roaring Currents arrives on Bluray
On Bluray from director Han-min Kim and CJ Entertainment comes the highest grossing Korean language film ever released in North American

The film tells the story of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin (Min-sik Choi), a quiet man who must prepare for battles with a very small army. Left with only 12 battleships, he must create a battle plan to thwart the fleet of 330 Japanese battleships.
Trying to take the capital from the Admiral, he plans everything accordingly. Even when his own men begin to doubt and the people of the village flee, it is the water that the Admiral and army will begin a battle that will be remembered to this very day.
As the enemy draws near, they enlist the help of anyone they think will bring down Admiral Yi before the battle begins, what they don’t count on is the steadiness of this military man.

The real life battle of Myeong-Nyang is here !
Choi as the Admiral is such a quiet character. Listening to those around him say the battle can not take place, he does not show an ounce of backing down. When one of his own people destroys the last turtle ship, the Admiral has a moment of pain that comes through on the screen. Choi’s performance is strong, clear and when the battle scenes begin he is an obvious leader and tactician.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give THE ADMIRAL: Roaring Currents four tubs of popcorn out of five. This is definitely a period piece with costuming that is stunning. The armor and masks are so detailed and intricate. I enjoy the films done in Asia over the last few years as the story lines are intense and filled with characters and events that I never knew about in their histories.
The CGI is sharp which makes the battle scenes on the water fantastic to watch. Watching the ships take each other on is slick and I don’t believe I’ve seen battleships scenes done as well as THE ADMIRAL: Roaring Currents.
The history of the 1597 Battle of Myeongryang has the general destroying 133 Japanese warships off the coast of the Korean Peninsula and is known as the greatest victories of Yi during the Japanese invasion.
The Bluray also includes The Making of The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Highlights, The Admiral Teaser and Trailer.
In the end – the current will lead them to victory!
